Bizroom / Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Bizroom collects when you use bizroom.app and the Bizroom app at my.bizroom.app, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it simple: we collect what we need to run local business networking rooms, and we don't sell your personal information.

What we collect

Information you give us:

  • Applications, waitlist sign-ups and chapter director applications, such as your name, email, phone, business, city and state, and anything you tell us in those forms.
  • Your member profile, what you present, who you want to meet, messages, follow-ups and notes you save in the app.
  • Billing details you give our payment processor when you choose a paid plan. We don't store full card numbers.

Information collected as you use Bizroom:

  • Basic technical information such as your IP address, browser, device and pages visited, collected by our hosting and security providers.
  • Cookies and similar tools needed to keep you signed in and to keep the service secure.
  • Recordings of rooms that are recorded (see our Terms of Service). Small Groups are never recorded.

How we use it

  • To review applications and place you in a chapter, and to tell you when a chapter opens in your city.
  • To run rooms, seat members so they can do business together, and show your profile to other members.
  • To send you service messages, reminders and, if you agree, news about Bizroom.
  • To process payments.
  • To keep Bizroom safe, look into reported issues and enforce our terms.
  • To understand how Bizroom is used and improve it.
  • To meet legal obligations.

Who we share it with

  • Other members: your profile and what you share in rooms are visible to members you meet.
  • Chapter directors: your application or waitlist sign-up goes to the director for your city so they can reach out.
  • Service providers that help us run Bizroom, such as hosting, video, email and payment companies. They may use your information only to provide their service to us.
  • When the law requires it, or to protect the safety and rights of members, Bizroom or others.
  • If Bizroom is ever sold or merged, as part of that transaction.

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising on other websites.

Your choices and rights

You can update your profile in the app, and unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any of them. You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing info@bizroom.app. Depending on the state you live in (for example Texas or California), you may have additional rights, including the right to appeal a decision we make about your request. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.

How long we keep it

We keep information while your account is active and as long as needed for the purposes above, such as keeping billing records or looking into a reported issue. Waitlist sign-ups are kept until a chapter opens for you or you ask us to remove them. When we no longer need information, we delete it or remove what identifies you.

How we protect it

We use reasonable safeguards, such as encryption in transit and limited access, to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't promise absolute security.

Children

Bizroom is for adults running businesses. It isn't meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.

Where it's stored

Bizroom serves the United States. Our providers may store or process information in the United States and other countries where they operate.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If we make a significant change, we'll let members know by email or in the app. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
